What's new? Well almost done with the apples. A few I peeled, cored, quartered apples and cooked in a wide, shallow pan with sugar and cinnamon till they were tranparent. I will use the quarts of that for pies or topping for cakes and ice cream. Yesterday I made banana struesel muffins and double chocolate zucchini muffins. Mmmmm good! I also made a southern rice chilli and fried green tomatoes. I love to cook and bake as long as someone else eats it. LOL:) I've considered putting some recipes on my blog but recipes are a dime a dozen. If anyone wants a recipe that I use just send me a message and I will be happy to share. No recipe is worth keeping secret. Good recipes are meant to be used and shared with others. Our chickens are laying an egg a day. Since we have 10 chickens that makes 10 eggs a day. They seem to be very happy and doing well. We've gotten a few double yolk eggs which I'm told is good. Happy chickens make good eggs I guess.

Our apple trees have done great this year. So we have a large amount of apples. The big thing I'm doing is apple butter. That's something my kids and family love. Plus it makes great gifts. I make alot of muffins and quick breads for my family so I am also chopping and freezing some for breads and muffins. I've been a week working on apples and probably have about another week to go to have all the apples done and gone. Thank goodness school started cause I couldn't handle apple butter in the kitchen with all the kids running around it.

So it's been awhile. Anyway, it's summer, kids are out of school, it's super hot, not much else going on. My oldest son will be a senior this year in high school, my daughter a junior, and my baby is starting middle school this year. Wow! Where did time go? Right now I'm nursing my daughter from surgery. She had all 4 of her wisdom teeth surgically removed yesterday. She is feeling ok I guess under the circumstances. My son has been working alot his first paid jobs. He's loving it.
